Welcome message from the Office of the Provost

“Excellence, Compassion and Service”

Our Dear Prospective Students, Parents, Guardians, Faculty, Staff, and Esteemed Members of the Martha's College Community,

It gives me great pleasure and a deep sense of responsibility to welcome you to Martha's College of Nursing Sciences, Bayelsa State, a young and promising institution established with a clear commitment to excellence in nursing education, professional development, compassionate healthcare delivery, and service to humanity.

On behalf of the Chancellor, Governing Council, Management, Academic Board, faculty, and entire staff of the College, I warmly welcome you to an institution where knowledge, competence, discipline, compassion, professionalism, and service are regarded as the essential foundations of nursing education.

Our motto, “Excellence, Compassion and Service,” captures the philosophy that guides everything we do. We believe that nursing education must go beyond the acquisition of academic knowledge. It must prepare men and women who possess the professional competence, emotional intelligence, ethical consciousness, leadership capacity, and compassionate disposition required to provide safe, respectful, evidence-based, and patient-centred care.

Our goal is not merely to produce graduates who can pass examinations. Our goal is to produce competent, confident, ethical, compassionate, and employable nursing professionals who can make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, families, communities, and the healthcare system.

Every student who gains admission into Martha's College of Nursing Sciences represents a significant investment in the future of healthcare. We recognise that students come from different backgrounds and possess different strengths, aspirations, experiences, and learning needs. Our responsibility is to provide an environment in which students can learn effectively, receive appropriate guidance, develop confidence, and prepare adequately for professional practice.
